Now I may wither into the truth.

The Coming of Wisdom with Time

Though leaves are many, the root is one;
Through all the lying days of my youth
I swayed my leaves and flowers in the sun;
Now I may wither into the truth.

wither into the truth

truth

  1. the truth [singular] the true facts about something, rather than the things that have been invented or guessed
  2. [uncountable] the quality or state of being based on fact
  3. [countable] a fact that is believed by most people to be true

「Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary」
