英語に由来する日本語に由来する英語

英語に由来する日本語は星の数ほどありますし、日本語に由来する英語もそれなりの数はあります。

しかし英語に由来する日本語に由来する英語となるとどうでしょう？

cosplay

The practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga and anime.

Origin

1990s: blend of costume and play after Japanese kosupure, ultimately from English costume play.

「Oxford Dictionaries」

cosplay はいわゆる「コスプレ」を意味する英単語。

英語の costume play が、日本語の kosupure になり、再び英語に入って cosplay になったという流れ。

英語に戻ったときに、日本語風の kosupure のままではなく、英語風の cosplay に再変化しているというのが面白いところです。
