腕なのか、足なのか
「腕」は英語で arm。
「足、脚」は英語で leg。
。。。とは限らないのが、言葉の面白いところ。

OALD によるとタコは8本の arms を持つ生き物。
タコの足は英語では arm になるんですね。
となると気になるのは相棒のこちら。
squid

OALD によるとイカは8本の arms と2本の tentacles を持つ生き物。
tentacle というのはいわゆる「触手」のこと。
イカの写真を改めて見ると、二本だけ特に長い足があるのがわかります。これはイカが獲物を捕るときに使う触手なのだそう。
と、こんな風に「触手」と言うときには日本語でも「手」になるのは面白いところ。
当のタコやイカにとっては、腕か足かなどということはどうでもよいことだとは思いますが。
